- The 115200 bps limit comes from the _hardware_, not the software. In order to
- maintain compatibility over the years, all hardware uses or emulates an 8250
- UART with a 1.8432 MHz crystal. There are serial ports, such as the Hayes
- ESP, which exceed that, but do so at the expense of requiring special drivers.

- I believe that the LapLink suggestion referred to using a parallel cable; I
- have had better than 40K/sec from such a connection, about four times the
- speed you'll get from standard serial hardware.
